Abu Dhabi: A Milestone in Meralda’s Growth Journey
The Hamdan Street flagship has been conceived as more than an expansion of Meralda’s retail footprint. It brings the jewellery house’s evolving approach to design, curation and customer experience to one of the UAE’s key markets.
The flagship brings together bridal, gold, diamond, gemstone, uncut and contemporary jewellery within an environment designed around discovery and personalised curation.
Meralda’s approach places individual taste at the centre of the experience, helping customers discover jewellery around their personal style, preferences and defining moments rather than simply presenting an abundance of choice.
Abdul Jaleel Edathil, Chairman, Meralda Jewels, said:
“Abu Dhabi is a very special milestone in the Meralda journey. The trust our customers have placed in us has allowed us to grow from our roots in India into new markets and communities. As we grow, we want Meralda to continue building relationships that extend beyond a single purchase and become part of the defining moments of generations of families.”
A Contemporary Point of View on Jewellery
As Meralda expands, the jewellery house sees a shift in the way customers choose jewellery. Craftsmanship and cultural relevance remain important, but customers are increasingly looking for individuality, distinctive design and pieces that reflect their own sense of style.
This philosophy was also reflected in Raere, Meralda’s uncut diamond collection, showcased as part of the Abu Dhabi opening.
Developed by Meralda’s internal design team, Raere interprets traditional uncut diamonds through contemporary silhouettes, spanning minimal everyday jewellery and mangalsutras to statement and signature pieces.
The collection reflects a larger philosophy at Meralda: respecting the traditions of jewellery while continually finding new ways to make them relevant to the way people want to wear jewellery today.
A 50-Store Vision
Over the next five years, Meralda is targeting an approximately 50-store footprint across India, the GCC and North America, expanding within established markets while entering new international geographies.
For the company, the vision is not centred on scale alone. Meralda is seeking to build a distinctive jewellery house around design, thoughtful curation, craftsmanship and a deeper understanding of the individual wearing the jewellery.
Jaseel Muhammed Edathil, Managing Director – International Business, Meralda Jewels, said:
“Our ambition is not simply to open more stores. We want to build Meralda into one of the most desirable jewellery houses to emerge from India.
Abu Dhabi is an important milestone in that journey. As we work towards our 50-store vision across India, the GCC and North America, our focus will be on taking Meralda into new markets while ensuring that every new destination carries the same point of view on design, curation and customer experience that defines us.”
Mrunal Thakur Joins the Abu Dhabi Celebration
The flagship celebration was joined by Meralda brand ambassador Mrunal Thakur, whose association with the jewellery house reflects its contemporary expression of confidence, individuality and elegance.
The celebrations continued with “An Evening with Mrunal,” an intimate gathering in Abu Dhabi bringing together invited guests, customers, partners and members of the Meralda community.
The evening also provided guests an opportunity to experience Meralda’s collections and the design philosophy behind the jewellery house.
The Next Chapter
From its roots in India to its growing presence in the UAE, Meralda’s next phase is focused on demonstrating how an Indian jewellery house can build international scale while retaining a distinctive point of view.
With the Abu Dhabi flagship now open and a 50-store vision guiding its next five years, Meralda is setting out to take its approach to design, curation and individuality to a much wider audience, while remaining unmistakably Meralda.
