Grundfos Launches New SP47 Pump to Support More Energy-Efficient Groundwater Infrastructure Across MENA

  • Designed to help utilities, agricultural operators and industrial users reduce energy consumption and operating costs
  • One-to-one compatibility with existing SP46 installations enables seamless upgrades without major system redesigns
  • Available across the MENA region for municipal, irrigation, mining and industrial applications

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – 27 July 2026 – Grundfos,a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies, today announced the launch of the SP47, its new generation of 6-inch submersible pump designed to support more energy-efficient groundwater infrastructure across the MENA region.

Groundwater plays a vital role in supplying water to municipalities, agriculture, mining and industry across the region. As operators face rising energy costs, growing demand for reliable water supply and increasing pressure to maximise the performance of existing infrastructure, there is a growing need for solutions that improve efficiency while lowering operating costs and extending the life of existing assets.

Developed to address these challenges, the SP47 combines improved hydraulic performance with the reliability and long product life for which Grundfos submersible pumps are recognised. Replacing the SP46, it enables straightforward upgrades through one-to-one compatibility with existing installations. The range also includes the variable-speed SPE47, equipped with the Grundfos MS6000P Permanent Magnet Motor to deliver the highest energy efficiency within the SP/SPE 6-inch pump portfolio.

The SP47 range is designed for municipal water supply, agricultural irrigation, mining, desalination and other groundwater applications, supporting utilities, irrigation operators, mining companies, industrial users and other organisations that depend on reliable water supply.

“Across the MENA region, operators are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency while making the most of existing infrastructure,” said Abdulaziz Daghestani, Area Sales Director, Water Utilities, MENA and Country Director for Saudi Arabia at Grundfos. “The SP47 has been developed to help customers meet these challenges through improved efficiency, proven reliability and seamless compatibility with existing SP46 installations, making it easier to upgrade existing systems while reducing operating and lifecycle costs.”

Key features of the SP47 range include:

  • Next-generation hydraulic design for improved energy efficiency
  • Optional variable-speed permanent magnet motor technology via the SPE47 variant
  • One-to-one backward compatibility with existing SP46 installations, supporting a seamlessupgrade path
  • Validated reliability through extensive testing and modern production processes

The SP47 marks the latest addition to Grundfos’ next generation of 6-inch submersible pumps, with the upcoming SP62 set to further expand the portfolio.

The SP47 submersible pump, including the SPE47 variant, will be available across the MENA region from 1st September 2026 through Grundfos’ authorised distributors and sales partners. For more information,
